Terms and Conditions Primary

All valid entries must be under the theme of internet safety and must fulfil the relevant competition category guidelines

  • The promoter is Webwise, Talent Garden, Claremont Avenue, Glasnevin, Dublin 9
  • Closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday, 31st March 2023.
  • The winners of the Best Poster Competition categories will have their exhibited in a gallery.
  • The winner of the Best Campaign category will receive a tablet device  for their school, the winners of the Colouring Competition will receive vouchers for their school
  • Competition is open to Primary schools in the Republic of Ireland.
  • Overall winner will be announced within two weeks of the closing date.
  • If for any reason the winner cannot be contacted within 1 week of being announced. Another winner will be selected at random.
  • This competition will run from 5pm on Thursday, 2nd February and will close on Friday, 31st March 5pm.
  • The promoter will have no responsibility for any additional costs associated with the prize.
  • Any prize is as stated in any messaging or promotions advertising such competition. No cash or other alternative will be offered and prizes are non-transferable. The promoter retains the right to substitute the prize with another prize of similar value in the event the original prize offered is not available.
  • Employees or agents of the PDST, any associated group companies, prize sponsor and or agencies associated with this competition and their immediate families are ineligible to enter. Any such entries will be invalid.
  • Entry to the competition is free. No purchase is necessary.
  • A valid entry for the Best Campaign competition consists of supporting materials (photos, videos or links) and description of the activities undertaken sent to internetsafety@pdst.ie. It must demonstrate how entrants plan to or are celebrating Safer Internet Day 2023.
  • A valid entry for the HTML Heroes Colouring competition consists of sending an entry toWebwise / PDST Technology in Education, Old Finglas Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 11, D11 KXN4 
  • The Art competition categories for Primary are 1st and 2nd Class | 3rd and 4th Class | 5th and 6th Class
  • The Art competition entries will be judged based upon:
    • Relevance to theme: poster that that reflects the theme of Safer Internet Day 2023
    • Creative approach: innovative and creative approach to the theme
    • Effective presentation and communication of the message
  • Art Competition entries is via post to Webwise / PDST Technology in Education, Old Finglas Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 11, D11 KXN4
  • An independent panel of judges will pick the winning entry in each category from valid entries received. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The promoter is excluded from liability for any loss, damage or injury which might occur to the winner arising from his or her acceptance of the prize. 
  • The winner may be required to participate in unpaid promotional related publicity undertaken by the promoter or its associated companies.
  • By entering this competition you are agreeing that any submissions made become the property of Webwise.
  • Competition entries may be used for further promotional activities, including but not limited to: online advertising, promotion on social media and via webwise.ie’s websites.
  • The winning entries will be displayed on webwise.ie and other associated websites and social media channels.
  • Winning entries may also be used for further promotional purposes via third party stakeholders.
  • Entry to this promotion shall be deemed full and unconditional acceptance of the terms & conditions. 
  • The promoter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions. 
  • These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of Ireland and subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish Courts. 
  • The promoter shall not be liable for any failure to stage the competition on the date provided in these terms and conditions as a result of circumstances outside the promoter’s control including, but not limited to, acts of God, war, riots, explosion, abnormal weather conditions, fire, flood, Government action, strikes, lockouts, delay by third parties, accidents and shortages of materials, labour or facilities. 
  • No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt.
  • Prize is subject to availability.
  • Prizes will be dispatched within two weeks of the winning schools being notified.
