Influencers Top Tips

In this series of interviews, some of Ireland’s top influencers give their top tips on how they use the internet. These influencers share their experiences of having a prominent online life, the positives and the negatives. The interviews will help teenagers identify the best uses of social media and show them how to stay safe online. They also provide some good advice on what to do in the event of online bullying.

Sinéad Burke, aka MinnieMelange, is a primary school teacher,  broadcaster, Alternative Miss Ireland emeritus, Ph.D. candidate, blogger, and public speaker. Sinéad offers particular advice on strategies to avoid online bullying.

 

 

Paddy Smyth shared his ideas about using the internet proactively to raise awareness about important issues. Paddy documents his life with cerebral palsy daily on Snapchat and is the man behind the #MyDisabledLife hashtag.

Suzanne Jackson (SoSueMe), blogger and model, active and very popular on Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, gives us the benefit of her 5+ years blogging with her take on the cleverest ways to use the net.

James Kavanagh (JamesKava), one of Ireland’s most popular Snapchatters and active on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram talks to Two Tube. He believes in being authentic and being creative online.

There’s also an interview with YouTuber Clare Cullen (Clisare) of the Irish Independent, a vlogger who travels around Ireland using the #Irishbucketlist hashtag and is also very active on Twitter and Facebook. She talks about privacy and her top tips about dealing with cyberbullies.

 

Classroom Uses

These videos could be used to lead a class discussion or shown during school assembly as part of Safer Internet Day celebrations or in your online safety classes.
